He sets out with his buddy and uncovers a lot about the America. Though the film is downright outrageous and gross at some points, the naiveness of Borat and his bluntness make this film a one of a kind. #3. The Revenant (2015)
Director: Alejandro G. Inarritu
Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson, Will Poulter
Another film from my favorite actor Lonardo DiCaprio, The Revenant is a semi-biographical epic western film, a survival tale of Huge Glass played by DiCaprio who is betrayed by his hunting team when he is attacked by a grizzly bear and left to death. Mind you, the bear fight is one of the most highlighted scene in the film giving you goosebumps, setting a prayer in your mind for this blesses life where you don’t have to fight man, deadly animals every day to live. Dicaprio survives against the odds and seeks revenge on those who left him to die and killed his son mercilessly. The film beautifully captures the pain of betrayal set in the snowbound wilderness, once again DiCaprio didn’t fail to mesmerized us with his mind blowing performance in this cold, harsh survival tale which also gained him his first Academy Award and he truthfully deserves it.
#2. The Others (2001)
Director: Alejandro Armenabar
Cast: Nicole Kidman, Fionnula Flaganan
The Others, not only a horror film but a psychological horror film, so double the creeps, double the fun! It’s kind of fun when you both can agree on “Let’s go to pee together”, as you both are shit scared out of your minds. The Others, will do the trick without much work. This slow paced, dark setting film not only scares you but burns your soul. The film tells the story of Nicole Kidman, wife and a mother to two photosensitive children suspects that the house she is living in is haunted. This slow paced, dark setting which starts off as a simple case of spirits tormenting the households gradually unfolds into a whole another mystery that will not only scare you but burn your soul with an astounding climax.
