Best Horror Movies to Watch on Netflix!

Netflix had me going crazy this winter. It’s an effing Pandora box (good one) which I always love to open and waste my entire time with zero regrets (Sigh). Well it’s not entirely wasted, I get to give you guys the best, the worst of all of them. In this list we will be opening the Pandora box of the horror genre on Netflix. So let me give you guys a few doses of spine, heart chilling movies in this list. The article is in descending order, meaning our “best” rated movie will be at the end of this list. #25. American Poltergeist (2015)

It is the classic remake of the 1982 film by the same name. The film tells the story of Taryn and her friends who moves into a vacation home at Massachusetts. Taryn starts having strange feelings about the house which has it’s own many tragedies. As Taryn investigates the two tragedies that took place in the house, she is horrified to know she may be connected to the most deadly poltergeists in American history.

A Swedish remake of ‘Let the Right One‘ in released on 2008, Let Me In centers around a 12-year old boy, Owen who is bullied in his school befriends his neighbor a female vampire Abby, without knowing that she is a vampire in Los Alamos, New Mexico in early 1980s. Since the entry of his female friend, Owen’s life change for good.

It is the sequel to the 2012, Woman in Black. The film is set in the war torn London, during the WWII bombings a group of children with their caretakers are forced to evacuate and take shelter at Eel Marsh House, the famous ‘haunted house’. It didn’t take too long for them to realize that the house is haunted. The caretakers with the help of a pilot fight the evil spirit to end her presence once and for all.

The fifth installment of The Exorcist series, Dominion : prequel to the Exorcist is an American supernatural horror film written by William Wisher Jr. and Caleb Carr. The film centers around Father Lankester Merrin’s first encounter with the demon in a newly excavated church which was buried under the sand in East Africa. Once the door to the church is opened, whole of the area seems to come under a curse and many secrets are revealed which were never suppose to resurface on Earth. This is the only film in the whole franchise that has an interesting, smart story line to tell and has garnered many positive reviews.

This film will sure give you the desired suspense and it’s about a doll, so it’s going to be spooky. Duh!

Paranormal Activity’ series franchise was the most profitable franchise ever made under modest budgets. The Ghost Dimension, the sixth and the final installment of the franchise takes us all on a chilling journey, targeting a new family, The Fleeges. The Fleeges move into a house and find old video tapes starting a series of strange events. With the help of a special camera that can see paranormal activities otherwise not visible to the nakedhuman eyes found in the same house, the Family must save their daughter from the angry supernatural entity.

Jay with the help of her friends must get rid of this curse by any means before it takes Jay’s life.

However, following a wrong turn they stumble upon the mysterious forests of Norse Legend where they are stalked by an ancient evil spirit and must face the terrifying secrets of the forest.

The killer made sure to make his presence felt by teasing her, taunting her using Sarah dead body. Maddie must fight back with all her strength to kill the masked killer before he brutally kills her.

Marina commits suicide in response to humiliation caused by Laura and strange things begin to occur in Laura’s life where all her close ones die one by one. Indeed they soon realized that there is someone in the apartment who is after Dorsa and her beloved doll, Kimia. But during the missile attack the doll gets lost and Shideh must find the doll, before the Djinns get their hands on it.

When you are filthy rich, you can throw any kind of birthday parties. Eccentric millionaire Stephen Price did the same thing. For his wife, Evelyn’s birthday party he threw a huge birthday party in a so called ‘Haunted House’ with a terrible past and offered six strangers a whooping $1,000,000 to spend the night in the house. All of them dismissed the rumors of the haunted house which was a mental asylum where unspeakable amount of horrifying events occurred, all thanks to an insane doctor. But as time pass by, it didn’t take long enough for them to realized that the house is actually haunted.

Suspicion and tension rises among them. They must find who the killer is and what their motive is before time runs out.

If you like horror movie with blood splatter all over the screen, this one is definitely for you. The film revolves around a true crime writer, Ellison Oswald (Ethan Hawke) once a best selling author, on the verge of desperation for another best selling. Taking the risk for his new book, he moves his family to a house where the victims were brutally murdered. Therein he finds super 8 home videos with names and dates that suggest more horrifying murders stories that goes way back to the 1960s. He begins his research on the new found video tapes, with a little idea that he is putting himself and his family in the center of the horrifying crime.

The film is based on Stephen King’s novella by the same name. Would you let your pride hurt by your own loved ones? No, I guess. The film is about a simple proud farmer, James, a loving husband and a proud father to his only son, . Due to disagreement between his wife and himself over recently inherited farm, he goes off the road as he said in the film, ‘the conniving man’ takes over the good man. He secretly conspires the murder of his wife with the help of his son. However, things goes downhill once the plan is executed.

Horror with psychological twist are a treat to everyone’s eyes. Gerald’s Game, has abundance of horror mixed with the perfect blend of that paranoia that will keeping you jumping in your seat. The film is based on the Stephen King’s novel by the same name. A couple, Jessie and Gerald retreats to their secluded lake house to ignite the long lost spark in their marriage. What started with a harmless kinky sex game with handcuffs and not a soul to disturb them for miles, Jessie never thought in her wildest dreams she will be confronted by her long buried demons and must fight back a shadowy creature lurking in her seemingly empty house.
